Team Operations Manager

PurpleRain is a US-headquartered 8+ year old close-knit, fully distributed bootstrapped and profitable product startup with a 50+ rock star team members who enjoy the challenge of solving hard problems together with inc 500 clients globally through our B2B SaaS products.

We are a hybrid remote company, with in-house teams in Bangalore, London and remote teams globally in 20+ countries where each employee works from home or a co-working space. 

Even though we're far away, we're in contact throughout the day in Slack, Basecamp and Zoom. 

PurpleRain is actively searching for a  Team Project Manager who loves to run to join our remote team.  


This role is a combination of account management + project operations where you will be responsible for the productivity of in-house team members in Bangalore and also serve as a single point of contact for all remote team members to ensure all tasks assigned are coordinated and completed on time.   


30% managing web development projects + 40% managing inhouse team tasks + 30% manager role in terms of reporting, mentoring and creating roadmap.

  • Comfortable planning and running meetings: creating agendas, taking notes, directing conversations and discussing budgets, timelines, and tasks 

  • Values communication as the cornerstone of good project management, and have a flair for both written and spoken communication 

  • Takes ownership of a project’s success 

  • Thinks testing a new productivity tool or building an awesome spreadsheet sounds like a fun way to spend the afternoon 

  • Genuinely enjoys interacting with clients and are kind, patient and respectful in all communication with them 

What will you be doing? 

  • Participates in multiple cross-functional project teams. 

  • Supports project teams in monitoring the execution, progress, and risks of Engineering project deliverables and overall program elements. 

  • Coordinates project meetings, communicate status, readiness, business issues, technical issues, resource requirements and their resolution across functional teams and management. 

  • Facilitates and organizes daily stand-up meetings, sprint sizing and planning, retrospectives, and demonstrations 

  • Collaborates with Product Managers, and Engineering team leads to plan releases and ensure backlog maintenance 

  • Tracks teams velocity and project release schedules 

  • Identifies and helps to removes any obstacles that prevent the Engineering team from attaining sprint goals 

  • Reports project progress, team status and issues to project stakeholders and  management team 

  • Fosters a culture of continuous improvement, creativity, and innovation 

  • Aids project teams with determining suitable commitments for stories, defects, and tasks 

  • Coordinates and schedules the execution of deliverables across multiple teams 

  • Communication the workflow, ideas and project details clearly to all stake holders and ensure deliverables 

  • Act as a single point of contact between all internal stake holders  

  • Take ownership for productivity of remote and inhouse team members  

  • Provide daily and weekly reports to the management 


Essential Requirements: 

  • a solid understanding of agile development practices 

  • project management experience (PMP certification a plus) with a proven history of delivering software projects 

  • experience managing every aspect of multiple concurrent CMS or other SaaS implementations 

  • experience working with a team of off-site developers 

  • experience managing multiple concurrent implementations 

  • Ability to influence others to achieve results 

  • Skilled leading and working with geographically distributed teams 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Advanced problem analysis and problem-solving skills 

  • Candidate must be self-motivated and work independently with limited supervision 

  • Strong organization, and time management skills 

We'd love it if:


  • You hold a Master's degree or equivalent, but not essential 

  • You hold a business management + engineering degree  

  • You are a Certified Scrum Master but not essential 

  • You  are comfortable with the communication skills and tools required to  work effectively with a distributed team (like Slack, Asana, Basecamp and Zoom) 

  • You know your way around WordPress 

  • You like writing and editing blog posts, tutorials and documentation

CTC upto - 6 lakh P/A 

Notice period - upto 30 days  

Should be willing to work on flexible shift (India or UK)
